Fried Cabbage

Fried Cabbage

Low-carb, high fat. Kosher. Vegetarian version possible. Mom J’s simple adaptation of traditional southern-style fried cabbage. Photo shows meatless version.

Ingredients:

  • ½ stick butter
  • 2 c. finely chopped cabbage
  • ½ medium onion, cut in half then sliced thinly
  • ½ pkg. Hebrew National® beef franks*, sliced into ¼-in. thick round pieces.
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • ½ t. garlic salt
  • ¼ t. ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in non-stick skillet.
  2. Add cabbage and onion, and cook on medium-high for about 5 minutes, stirring to cook evenly.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, cover, and simmer on low for 20-25 minutes.
